Bathroom Renovations FAQs in Oakleigh

How can bathroom carpentry reshape my Oakleigh bathroom?

Athans Building Services can adjust the bathroom layout through carpentry, including building shower or bath surrounds and fitting new vanities and storage. The work is planned around the room’s shape and intended use, helping create a practical space. Plumbing, waterproofing and tiling requirements are considered when coordinating the carpentry details.

What happens if wall framing is damaged?

Damaged wall or floor framing can be assessed as part of the bathroom renovation. Athans Building Services can repair or replace affected timber framing before new surfaces are fitted. Addressing the underlying structure helps provide a suitable base for the next stages, with any related plumbing or electrical work coordinated as needed.

Can carpentry openings be prepared for new plumbing?

Yes. Athans Building Services can prepare openings in the framing for planned plumbing and electrical work. The locations and dimensions need to suit the renovation design and relevant trade requirements, so these details are coordinated before the surrounding carpentry is completed. This helps the different parts of the project fit together as planned.

Do you install moisture resistant boards before tiling?

Athans Building Services can install moisture resistant substrates as part of bathroom renovation carpentry. These surfaces are prepared for the next stages, with carpentry details coordinated with waterproofing and tiling. The appropriate materials and preparation depend on the bathroom design and project requirements, which can be discussed when planning the work.

What storage can be added during a bathroom renovation?

Storage options can include fitted vanities, cabinetry and shelving suited to the available space. Athans Building Services can carry out the carpentry needed to install these features and help make the layout more practical. The style, size and position can be considered alongside the bathroom fixtures and overall renovation plan.

How are timber trims finished around bathroom fixtures?

Athans Building Services can fit doors, timber trims, skirtings and architraves as part of the carpentry work. These finishing details are planned to suit the bathroom layout and nearby fixtures, helping the renovated space feel complete. The finish is coordinated with other work, including tiling and cabinetry, where required.
